CITY CYCLING
For the fourth time in a row, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin is taking part in CITY CYCLING in the district of Märkisch Oderland from 8 to 28 September. Let's cycle as many everyday journeys as possible in a climate-friendly way during these 21 days! It doesn't matter whether you already cycle every day or have rarely used your bike so far. Every kilometre counts - especially if it would have been covered by car. Last year, people in our community cycled an impressive 67,364 km over the three weeks - a good five thousand kilometres more than in the previous year. This saved almost 11 tonnes of CO2.
It is possible to set up a team with friends, in the classroom, with family, at a club or at work, or to join an existing team, e.g. the "Open Team" of the municipality. The team with the most kilometres will win the challenge cup of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin. Last year's winner was the Grund-und Oberschule Rüdersdorf bei Berlin with over 14,000 kilometres cycled.
The aim is also to bring the district's challenge cup back to Rüdersdorf, which we had to cede to the town of Strausberg last year.
How does it work?
Via Internet access: Use the homepage www.stadtradeln.de/ruedersdorf and register. You can then enter your kilometres travelled online. Whether you enter them daily or weekly is up to you.
Via the City Cycling app: Download the City Cycling app from the Play Store or Apple Store. Register and you can track your cycle tours via GPS transmission from the campaign period onwards. You then keep a digital logbook and don't have to do anything else. If you forget to track one or two journeys, you can of course add them digitally.
Late entry period: Kilometres cycled during the campaign period can still be added until Saturday 5 October. If you would like to register yourself or a team at a later date, please send an e-mail to ortsleben@ruedersdorf.de by then.
