We would like to inform you about encounters with wild boar, as there are currently frequent encounters with wild boar when walking in our forests and fields. This mainly affects Tasdorf, as there are several packs at home there. The wild boar still have young at the moment and the bucks are therefore particularly vigilant. In addition, the rutting season in autumn is a phase of increased activity, when the male wild boar in particular, the boars, are more aggressive and less cautious.
Firstly, it is important to know that feeding wild animals is prohibited and can lead to dangerous situations. Some animals in Tasdorf are used to humans due to feeding and have lost their natural shyness. Therefore, please exercise the necessary caution!
In principle, the following applies:
- Dogs must always be kept on a lead!
- If possible, avoid known wild boar areas.
- Keep a sufficient distance from the animals.
- Pay attention to warning signals (snorting, grunting, rustling in the leaves).
- Retreat calmly and quietly.
- Walk slowly backwards.
- Only if the wild boar are aggressive, make yourself big and make a noise!
The public order office and the responsible hunters are aware of the problematic areas. The hunters also constantly remove wild boar. However, it is not possible to completely disperse the problematic herds. If you have problematic encounters with wild animals, please report them to the public order office of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin.
