The awards ceremony took place at the Rüdersdorf Family Centre. The honourees were presented with a certificate and a medal and were allowed to sign the community's Golden Book. The event was accompanied by music from the Hugo Distler Music School. Afterwards, the newly honoured sat together in a relaxed atmosphere and exchanged views on the challenges and wonderful experiences of voluntary work.
Mayor Sabine Löser explains: "Once again this year, there were significantly more nominations than people who could be honoured in the end. We recognise every volunteer and will use other occasions to show our appreciation to those who, thanks to their commitment, form the backbone of our society and the colourful and diverse range of activities in our municipality."
