100,000 references to "Maerker" received

Exactly nine years after signing the framework agreement with the Association of Towns and Municipalities of the State of Brandenburg and the three pilot municipalities of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, Rathenow and Mittenwalde, the one hundred thousandth reference was received on the "Maerker" internet platform on 17 September 2018.
112 municipalities are currently participating in "Maerker". This means that more than 1.56 million people can use this service via the websites of their local authorities or with the "Maerker App". That is already 63 per cent of the Brandenburg population. Almost 350 "Maerker" editors ensure a direct dialogue between the administration and citizens. Citizens use the app to find out about infrastructure problems in their local authority and can use a traffic light system (red, amber, green) to transparently track the process. The administrations have undertaken to respond to information from the public within three days.

Since 2017, there has been an extension to the system called "MaerkerPlus". It allows local authorities to use the portal even more flexibly, as suggestions can also be made and projects discussed. Five local authorities are already using "MaerkerPlus"; other local authorities are interested and are in negotiations with the Central Brandenburg IT Service Provider (ZIT-BB).
