Press release 2022/21 of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin
"Take a seat" is the motto on 17 June 2022 from 4 pm at the longest picnic table in Rüdersdorf. 10 years after the completion of the Peter Lübkes Bridge, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin invites you to a bridge picnic. All guests are invited to bring their own food and drink and then enjoy it together to the accompaniment of music. Sharing with other guests and exchanging the food you have brought is expressly encouraged, but not a prerequisite. From 4 to 6 p.m., the Wiesenzirkus Bunterhund will be offering face painting for children and the parent-child centre in Seestraße will be presenting its services.
The Brücknick commemorates the tenth anniversary of the Peter Lübkes Bridge over the Kalkgraben, which was completed on 1 December 2011 after around four months of construction. The new bridge, which is over 160 metres long, replaced the bridge that was originally built in 1912, which was badly damaged and in danger of collapsing due to soil subsidence and the effects of war and was finally dismantled in 2002. The bridge was named after Peter Lübkes, who was head of the municipality for almost 30 years from 1886. A small exhibition on site commemorates the history of the bridge.
Barrier-free toilets are available in the Seestraße gymnasium.
