It will be Christmas for the world!
But for me - my Lenz is ordered,
On such a night of the year
I once went shining on the splendour of love!
And on my childhood Christmas tree
The angels stood the first dream!
And from the ice-crystalline shaft
The first blossom broke free -
Since then I have looked every year
Not what is still - only what once was!
