Bathing areas in Märkisch-Oderland ready for the swimming season

Press release 19/2023 of the district of Märkisch-Oderland

At the start of the official bathing season on 15 May, regular sampling shows that the water quality of the designated bathing areas is mostly impeccable and nothing stands in the way of bathing fun.

The bathing areas, which by definition comply with the EC Directive and the Brandenburg Bathing Water Ordinance, are monitored by the public health department.

In the district of Märkisch-Oderland, the following bathing areas have been designated for the 2023 season:

With the exception of the bathing area "Liegewiesen Nord-Badstraße", Straussee, Strausberg, all designated bathing areas in the district have been categorised as "excellent bathing water quality". A corresponding symbol can also be found on each notice board.

All other bathing areas that are not listed in the official gazette but have been monitored and sampled for years are monitored in accordance with the Brandenburg Health Service Act for the purposes of preventive health protection.

Regular follow-up checks are carried out to monitor the quality. If necessary, notices are posted on site recommending that bathing should be avoided.
