Car sharing offer DRIVE MOL

On 31 May 2024, the DRIVE MOL car sharing service was successfully expanded in the region with the opening of two new locations in Rüdersdorf and Hennickendorf.

It is now also possible to take advantage of the DRIVE MOL car sharing service from Strausberger Eisenbahn GmbH in the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin. In future, two electric vehicles will be available for free use for all interested users at the locations in Berliner Straße 1 (Hennickendorf district), behind the community centre and in Puschkinstraße in Rüdersdorf, Wendehammer.

Ms Irina Kühnel, Managing Director of Strausberger Eisenbahn GmbH, ceremoniously handed over the electric vehicles in the presence of the Mayor of Rüdersdorf, Ms Sabine Löser. The municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin is the new main user of the vehicles. Citizens can also hire the cars during off-peak hours.

Mayor Sabine Löser explains: "I am delighted that we have been able to bring an innovative concept to our municipality with DRIVE MOL, which on the one hand expands the municipality's vehicle fleet and at the same time creates an attractive rental offer for the people in our municipality."

The expansion of the car sharing service in Rüdersdorf near Berlin means that all DRIVE MOL users currently have a total of four electric vehicles available at four different locations. The principle remains the same: After successfully registering via the app or browser, the cars can be hired by the hour or for longer trips. The vehicles must also be returned to the starting point in Rüdersdorf near Berlin at the end of the hire period.

The first Strausberg location opened at the end of April at Artur-Becker-Strasse 14 marked the start of a total of five planned locations in Märkisch-Oderland. In addition, a second location has already been opened in Strausberg, directly at the Strausberg Vorstadt S-Bahn station. The opening of the fifth and therefore final location for the time being will complete the planned range of services in the coming weeks. The vehicle will be located not far from the "Hegermühle" S-Bahn station and the "Am Stadtwald" tram stop. It will be used by the main user, Strausberger Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH, and, like all other vehicles, will be available to all users during off-peak hours.

Until 31 July 2024, residents of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin and all other interested parties can take advantage of the introductory offer. With the discount code "drivemolstart", new applicants receive a starting credit of 10 euros. The code will be deducted in a user-friendly way when the desired booking is made, so that the first kilometres can be covered free of charge.
