Update, as of 24 March 2020, 10:00 a.m.
---
For many people, the day of their wedding is one of the most beautiful days of their lives, which they want to share with many people and which should be unforgettable for everyone involved.
In order to further slow down the spread of the coronavirus, we are unfortunately also forced to impose restrictions on weddings. By order of the Ministry of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg, weddings may only be held in the wedding room of the town hall. Guests are not permitted. The only exception to this rule is for children of the couple who require childcare, unless childcare can be provided in another way.
Witnesses are no longer permitted with immediate effect. If the parties to the marriage nevertheless wish witnesses to be present in accordance with Section 1312 (1) sentence 2 BGB, the marriage must be postponed.
These regulations apply accordingly to the conversion of civil partnerships into marriages.
Despite the current situation, all notarisations can still be carried out at the registry office in Rüdersdorf bei Berlin. As in all other areas of our town hall, we are endeavouring to avoid contact with citizens and to process many matters by email or post. Enquiries can be made via standesamt@ruedersdorf.de.
