The anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany on 23 May 1949 is celebrated on Basic Law Day. The Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany, the current "Constitution of the Germans", is the basic legal and political order of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Basic Law was drawn up on behalf of the three Western occupying powers and adopted by the Parliamentary Council for the Federal Republic of Germany on 23 May 1949.
For this reason, public buildings all over Germany, including the Rüdersdorf town hall, are being flagged.
