Olympic silver medallist Julia Richter was greeted with a warm welcome at the Kalkberge rowing club in Rüdersdorf on the evening of 15 August 2012. Just a few hours earlier, the German Olympic team, which had arrived directly from London on the MS Deutschland cruise ship, had been welcomed in Hamburg harbour. A champagne reception was organised at the rowing club to welcome them and the Rüdersdorf mountain band serenaded them. To round off the day, Julia and her coach Peter Kotoll were allowed to sign the Golden Book of the municipality of Rüdersdorf.
