Rüdersdorf has voted

The final election results for the mayoral election in the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin were determined today at the meeting of the election committee.
Exactly two candidates stood for the office of mayor in the municipality, Sabine Löser, non-party and Christian Götze, Alliance 90/The Greens. There were a total of 13,676 eligible voters in Rüdersdorf, of which 6,669 voters (48.8%) exercised their right to vote. In the run-up to the election, there were around 1,500 people who preferred to vote by post. The trend towards postal voting has increased considerably in recent years, as it is convenient, flexible and free of charge.
The result of the election for the full-time mayor was quite clear. Sabine Löser received 5,220 votes (81.4%) in the 14 voting districts, while Mr Götze only received 1,190 votes (18.6%). Mr André Schaller, the incumbent mayor of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, was elected to the state parliament via the CDU state list. There will therefore be a change of office in the town hall in mid-September.
