This year's summer in Rüdersdorf is not only characterised by the big mountain festival, but also by Berlin operetta. Together with the Viennese company werktreu5 GmbH, Kultur GmbH Rüdersdorf will transform the Acropolis and the Museum Park into a refuge for operetta.
This year, the operetta SUMMER Rüdersdorf starts with the production "Three Old Chests". On 27 July at 5 p.m., in the beautiful ambience by the water in the garden of the Bergmannsvilla am Museumspark, "Drei alte Schachteln", who are not old at all, will show their men who the strong and beautiful sex is. With Berliner Schnauze, wonderful melodies and lively dialogue, one of the masterpieces of the composer Walter Kollo awaits you. In addition to Ilonka Vöckel (Lotte), Oliver Uden (Kersting), Katharina Groth (Auguste) and Ute Beckert (Ursula), artistic director Stephan Wapenhans also appears on stage as Hasenpfeffer. Members of the Volkschores Hennickendorf and the Singegemeinschaft Storkow play and sing in other roles. The production is directed by Peter Zeug from Berlin and the musical direction is in the hands of Leipzig operetta specialist Prof. Ralph Rank.
In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the Acropolis. There are plenty of parking spaces available and food and drink will also be provided. Tickets are available from Rüdersdorf Town Hall, the Museum Park, by telephone on 033638-799797 and at all theatre box offices.
In the coming years, further productions of Berlin operettas will be produced and performed in Rüdersdorf. For children and young people, the co-operation between Kultur GmbH and werktreu5 offers the opportunity to take part in musical workshops. Masterclasses for young professional singers are also planned in cooperation with the European Operetta Foundation run by Mrs Marguerite Kollo. The aim is to further develop Rüdersdorf and the surrounding area as a cultural metropolis near Berlin.
