Heavy rainwater on Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße

In autumn 2019, the public order and building authorities of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin received an increasing number of complaints from residents in Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße due to heavy rainfall.
At the moment, the cemetery grounds are no longer able to absorb the water volumes during heavy rainfall.
There are many ways to counteract such a development. The combination of rainwater infiltration and retention is particularly important here.
If the weather permits, the main path of the cemetery is to be paved at the beginning of this year. The most important measure to reduce rainwater runoff will be the construction of infiltration trenches and drainage channels and the installation of additional box gutters.
The measure is intended to ensure that rainwater drains away from the cemetery grounds and does not flow unhindered onto Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße. The access road remains unaffected by this construction measure for the time being, as Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße does not yet have a rainwater drainage pipe.
