The association "Ziegeleibahn Herzfelde e.V." was founded on 27 April 2010 and is based in Rüdersdorf, OT Herzfelde.
The purpose of the association is to maintain the field railway of the former Herzfelde brickworks in working order for the general public as an important testimony to regional industrial history, to awaken and cultivate interest in and understanding of the history of field railways as an important part of industrial, railway and transport history, to preserve evidence of field railways as technical monuments for the general public, this applies in particular to vehicles and other equipment as well as material evidence of related technologies, to carry out and promote studies and research in the aforementioned field and to collect existing documents on this subject.
